Mons Block + Black Tower

The conversion of the Peninsular Barracks in Winchester has created a spectacular housing complex from the former Ministry of Defence property.  Plincke Landscape has been involved in the project from the outset and prepared a landscape masterplan in consultation with SAVE, the heritage pressure group.

Subsequent to the preparation of the masterplan the practice was retained to prepare detailed proposals for a number of the development phases.   These include the conversion of the Mons Block into social housing units and Queens Court.  Queens Court comprises a development of luxury apartments set within a strong landscape framework.

The proposals demonstrate the value of adapting historic buildings for new uses and in conjunction with landscape treatments illustrates the considerable appeal to purchasers.
