Plincke were appointed by English Heritage for a 3 year contract for the ongoing restoration of Queen Victoria’s former estate.
The proposals are ambitious – to extend visitor access to a far greater area of the 2000 acres of grounds associated with the house. With visitor numbers likely to rise to 400,000 annually, a comprehensive landscape masterplan is essential. New pedestrian and vehicular circulation is being planned and the restoration of the walled gardens and parkland will add to the visitor experience. There will aslo be an environmental centre, where visitors will be able to learn about the agricultural innovations introduced by Prince Albert.
