William Morris Gallery
Plincke are lead consultants for the design and restoration of Lloyd Park, the grounds of the William Morris Gallery. The project is focussed on the enhancement of the visitor experience, relating the themes and history of the museum collection into the wider external landscape. Our proposals encourage visitors to venture further than the gallery by opening up views from the back of the building into the park and directing visitors with the help of interpretative information.
The William Morris Gallery is the only public museum devoted to William Morris – with an internationally important collection of work by Morris and others from the Arts & Crafts movement. The collection is housed in his childhood home, an 18th century building Listed by English Heritage for its historical importance. Lloyd Park was once the grounds associated with the house. New features include a children’s play area, improved recreational facilities, and historical gardens.
