An example of a successful public-private partnership, Plincke are completing two residential regeneration masterplans within the Thames Gateway for the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham.
Designed in accordance with the London Housing Design Guide and Mayor for London’s SPG on play, the creation of adaptable and varied play environments within pedestrian prioritised zones were the key design objectives. The scheme provides a mix of private and communal amenity space at the heart of the residential blocks as well as a safe and attractive streetscape and homezone environment.
Through the creation of spaces from natural play to formal sport facilities, all age groups have been considered, Eastern End Thames View regeneration site will see 276 new social housing residential units located within an environmentally sensitive area. It will provide a mix of play spaces through the use landmark homezones, MUGA, and communal parks which incorporate SUDS and meadow ecologies.
Building upon the success of Phase 1, William Street Quarter Phase 2 is to become an exemplar residential district, providing a mix of social housing types for local people The quarter will become a distinctly legible urban development with a strong focus upon the streetscape environment, interwoven with natural play, recreation, and community interaction.
