Jersey College for Girls
Plincke were part of the winning tam appointed to redesign the site after a national competition. The brief included a new preparatory school and a secondary school set within a challenging sloping site adjacent to College House a highly prominent Grade I Listed building.
We proposed a response to the site which created an attractive, and functional, campus that draws its inspiration from the setting through a series of contemporary metaphors. An extensive area of green roof was expressed as a contemporary ‘partierre’ in front of the Listed house without detracting from its setting. Mature existing trees were retained and integrated into the proposals providing added shade and shelter, and all facilities share a landscaped multi-deck parking area.
