Jersey Prep School
Plincke won a limited entry competition and led the landscape scheme proposals for Jersey Prep School as part of a £24 million education campus.
A requirement was to increase student numbers which led to the need for new facilities. Objections were raised that additional buildings would distract from the existing Grade I listed school. We proposed a partially submerged classroom complex with a central landscape courtyard. The circular courtyard acts both as a light well to the classrooms and as an interaction space for students. The roof of the complex was landscaped as a contemporary parterre, enhancing the Listed building’s setting.
