Health Sciences, University of Southampton

Health Sciences at the University of Southampton is training the next generation of professionals in nursing, midwifery, health and social care, physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy.  The Times newspaper ranked the facility as number one in England in its influential survey of university departments; combining an impressive research portfolio in nursing and midwifery that has won it second place in the UK’s independent assessment of research quality.

The School’s vision is to create a world-class environment of learning and discovery. Improving health outcomes and transforming health care drives its ambitions locally, nationally and globally.  Plincke were selected as landscape architects under a framework agreement to design the external spaces associated with the new School. This included extensive new tree planting to compensate for the removal of a protected oak tree that had to be removed to enable development of the School on its tight urban site.
