This pathfinder academy has seen a transformation in attendance since it opened in 2005. In addition to the Changing Lives Award, the project has also received a Civic Trust Commendation.
The landscape design incorporates a sequence of spaces including an initial threshold plaza that links the street and the school forming a focal point for community engagement. Triple height glazing creates a transparent link from the threshold space to the sheltered courtyard encouraging dining to spill outside.
A series of curriculum gardens provide an external learning resource which maximises internal and external connections.
