Plincke have been shortlisted as 1 of 3 finalists in a competition for the Hong Qiao riverfront masterplan in Shanghai. The practice developed the urban design proposals from the London studio assisted by a Plincke team working from Shanghai. The competition includes a series of interconnected urban spaces that respond to both the riverfront location and a wider spatial masterplan for a new business district associated with Hong Qiao airport.
Other elements of the masterplan have been developed by teams including Foster & Partners, Make, and Zaha Hadid. A decision on the winning proposal is expected later this year.
